There's not much that can compare to the thrill of catching one of these magnificent fish… unless it's watching it swim away after a noble fight.

We're celebrating our Silver Anniversary this year (please, no gifts… but just in case, we're registered at Galati Yacht Sales) and for the first time in 25 years all billfish will be catch and release making the Bay Point Invitational the first major tournament on the Gulf Coast to go all-release. We expect to pay a total of $225,000 to the top three release teams this year.

As always, tuna, wahoo and dolphin will be weighed during Friday and Saturday’s crowd-pleasing weigh-ins, but this year we're expanding the winner's list by adding 4th Place payouts for all three species.

We're going live through the media this year as well with even more dynamic entertainment. Billfish release videos will be aired on the giant big-screen JumboTron during the Friday and Saturday night weigh-ins along with instant leaderboard standings and projected winnings as fish are being weighed. In addition, the weigh-ins will be telecast live on Cable Sports Southeast (CSS Sports) to over six million homes.
